Youth Ministry Ethos

Declare: Our first initiative is proclaiming the gospel to all peoples. We affirm that the gospel is the power of God unto salvation to all who believe (Rom. 1:16). A life changed by the gospel will most certainly produce visible evidence; however, the gospel is not something that you can live or model; it is a declaration. Obedience to the Great Commission begins by knowing the gospel, and then declaring it.

Disciple: Discipleship begins with hearing and believing the gospel (Romans 10:9). However, being a disciple is not merely making a profession of faith. Our second initiative is equipping students with a robust knowledge of orthodox Christian faith, piety, and practice so that they may work out their faith and obey Christ’s commands (John 14:15).

Do: Our final initiative is producing doers of the word. All who desire to follow Christ are commanded to be “doers” of the word and not “hearers” only (James 1:22). The church is not simply a place, but the body of Christ (Romans 12:5, 1 Cor. 10:17, Eph. 4:12). As the body, we serve as Christ’s “ambassadors” and are called to be the “salt of the earth”  (2 Cor. 5:20, Mt. 5:13). We ultimately desire to make disciples that make disciples.
